Job Summary: The Technical Inventory Control Officer will be charged with responsibilities of inventory and stock control functions that include receiving, issuing, storage, monitoring and segregation of materials/parts/tools as per regulatory requirements, and notifying the Materials Manager of the stock levels.
Key Duties and Responsibilities:
- Supervise receiving and issuing of all aircraft parts and materials.
- Control storage and bin allocation of parts and materials as well as separation of stock as required by regulations
- Ensuring adequate stock levels are maintained to meet the fleet requirement by generating a weekly replenishment list.
- Ensuring implementation of max and minimum stock levels.
- Check recording and filing of approved spares documentation, including the incoming and outgoing documentation of spares and components to ensure correctness.
- Check acceptability of spares to ensure that only approved spares are entered into bonded stores on receipt of approved documentary evidence
- Supervise technical stores officers to ensure that parts returned to stores for overhaul or repair are correctly labelled and certified before acceptance into quarantine stores.
- Monitor utilization of spares and provide monthly reports to materials manager that can be used in materials planning.
- Prepare the list of parts/materials/tools for disposal on monthly basis.
- Prepare monthly reports on storage conditions i.e. temperature and humidity, shelf life, tire rotation, tool calibration and ensure that any abnormal change is reported as an incidence to enable corrective action.
- Work hand in hand with Materials manager to prepare monthly duty rosters.
- Supervise technical stores officers and submit their monthly performance reports to the Materials manager
- Prepare monthly inventory movement report that with details of stock levels, receipts an issue.
- Perform weekly check on the line sub-store and prepare the report as required.
- Evaluation of parts and material in conformity with type design, manufacturer specification, orders, compliance with the applicable regulatory requirements, physical state and accompanying documentation.
- Perform proper tool control my maintaining a tool inventory that is checked weekly and preparing reports on status of all toolboxes, instruments, special tools, and ensure that any damaged/broken/lost tools are reported timely for corrective action.
- Maintain a file of all Parts/materials/tools requisition and issue control.
- Organize and perform periodic stock tock taking and reporting as per requirement in technical stores procedures manual.
- Check and control segregation of parts and materials in the bonded stores
- Participate in all audits (regulatory and non-regulatory) that are conducted in Technical stores.
- Carry out any other tasks assigned by the supervisor.
Qualifications, Skills and Experience:
- A bachelor’s degree in procurement, Supply Chain, Materials, logistics and stores management.
- At least three years’ experience in technical stores and/or technical logistics management
- Knowledge of Technical Stores management and requirements
- Computer knowledge.
- Relevant professional qualification is an added advantage.
Knowledge and Experience
- Experience in general and aviation technical stores management.
- Knowledge of standard practices, procedures in storage, reception, issuing and dispatch of aircraft materials.
- Technical Knowledge: The Technical Inventory Control Officer must have technical knowledge in handling the different types of materials, special materials, machineries, equipment etc.
- Knowledge of Dangerous goods and restricted articles will be an added advantage
- The Stores Officer should be knowledgeable in stock taking, preparation of store records, inventory, etc.
- Personal Qualities: Should possess personal qualities like honesty, integrity, pleasing personality etc.
- Knowledge of Incoming goods inspection
- Experience in aviation tool calibration control experience.
- Experience in Shelf-life control.
- Previous experience of supervision of more than 2 staff.
