Ensuring that electrical and instrumentation equipment in his/her allocated shop is efficiently well maintained at optimum cost and in compliance with the OHS and Environment regulations.
Roles and responsibilities
Maintenance Operations
• Carryout robust trouble shooting of Electrical and instrumentation failures in the Plant, repair with high quality.
• Report anomalies observed on the equipment during maintenance or inspection. Contribute to the analysis of equipment electrical failures and problems, recommending best corrective actions.
• Perform trial of equipment after every maintenance activity.
• Ensure timely readiness to efficiently tackle emergencies or urgent breakdowns as programmed with supervisors.
• Execute weekly work orders according to preventive maintenance plans or scheduled corrective maintenance actions as assigned by the supervisor.
• Participate in development of execution Job Plans for all maintenance activities He/She is involved in.
• Propose and execute cost reduction initiatives and in extension of electrical life of the plant equipment.
• Cooperate with shift leaders in the execution of scheduled maintenance actions
Management – Planning & Cost control
• Support the Electrical supervisor in the control of the maintenance budget, ensuring planning and follow-up on key tasks and costs through executing effective solutions to achieve budget and to meet or exceed targets for the assigned equipment.
Standards
• Ensure compliance with regulations, company goals, Rules, local permits, policies and procedures; optimize the internal processes and structures.
OH&S and Environment
• Ensure compliance with OH&S and environment policies and procedures to ensure zero harm
Educational Requirements
• Diploma in Electrical Engineering or equivalent education
• 3-5 years’ experience dealing with production or maintenance.
• Experience in heavy industry experience preferred
• Experience applying FMEA techniques and knowledge of basic problem-solving tools
Other requirements:
• Knowledge of cement manufacturing process.
• Experience in pole climbing is an added advantage
• Strong knowledge of electrical equipment and instrumentation systems.
• Knowledge of control loops and PLC theory
• Strong troubleshooting, analysis and problem-solving skills.
• Knowledge of material transport equipment
• Knowledge of operating principles of Cement Plant equipment; Crushers, Vertical roller mill,
Ball mills, Rotary Kiln, Bag Filters, Conditioning towers & Packing machines, Stackers,
Reclaimer
