Job Summary: Chint Uganda is hiring Tax and Regulatory Accountant to handle tax and regulatory work. The ideal candidate will be responsible for ensuring consistent regulatory financial strategy through arrange of avenues such as collecting data required for tax compliance, financial statements, and tax data. The candidate will also be the point of contact for auditors, and tax authorities.
Key Duties and Responsibilities:
Financial Operations & Tax Reporting
- Ensure timely and accurate financial reports
- Maintenance of acceptable accounting records of the financial transactions and results
- Ensure all financial controls are implemented
- Ensure timely and accurate posting of all accounting transactions
- Manage and maintenance of the integrity of the accounting system
- Maintain the company’s asset register with all supporting documentations
- Review and timely Reconciliation tax returns with financial records
- Ensure timely monthly tax ledger reconciliations
- Advise management on tax obligations and strategies to remain regulatory compliant
Audit & Regulatory Compliance Including Tax
- Act as a liaison with internal and external auditors including tax audits
- Investigate and follow-up on discrepancies of audit reports
- Provide feedback to auditors and management on discrepancies
- Manage the provision of accurate and timely monthly financial data pertaining to financial accounting
- Ensure compliance with existing taxation laws, policies and procedures
- Ensure accurate and completed tax filing and assessments
- Manage compliance related issues with URA, NSSF etc
Management
- Provide leadership to the team under your control
- Part of the financial planning and budgeting
- Part of the team overseeing budget forecasting and cash flow management
- Ensure government compliance in all financial tasks
- Conduct monthly reviews of business costs in line with business costs
- Ensure proper stakeholder compliance
- Advise management on tax and other business
- Any other duties that may be assigned
Qualifications, Skills and Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Statistics, Computer Science, Economics, Business administration or any financial related qualification
- Professional accountancy qualification with minimum LEVEL II for CPA
- Full membership of ICPAU/ACCA is an added advantage
- Masters degree or any other post graduate training is an added advantage
Experience
- More than 5 years experience in Tax and finance area
- Proficiency with Tally/ QuickBooks Accounting system
- Staff leadership experience is desirable
- Financial and cost control experience essential
- Tax compliance management experience is a MUST
- Computer Literacy – with specific reference to Excel/Sheet/ word and PowerPoint
