This project, implemented in Kiryandongo and Namisindwa districts, aims to build stronger, climate-resilient communities through innovative and community-led solutions.

Project Coordinator (2 Positions)

Reports to: Development Secretary

Job Purpose

The Project Coordinator will provide leadership and oversight to ensure the successful implementation, monitoring, and evaluation of the SICRA project. The role requires strategic planning, coordination with key stakeholders, and ensuring alignment with donor requirements and The Salvation Army’s mission.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead project planning, budgeting, and implementation in a participatory manner.
  • Engage communities and stakeholders, including local government and faith-based organizations, to foster
    collaboration.
  • Ensure compliance with donor agreements and The Salvation Army’s policies.
  • Oversee project progress, monitoring, and evaluation to ensure impact and sustainability.
  • Mentor and build the capacity of field teams for effective project execution.
  • Manage financial resources and ensure accountability in budget utilization.

Qualifications & Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in social work, Project Planning, Social Sciences, or Education. A Postgraduate Diploma or master’s degree in a related field is an added advantage.
  • Minimum of five (5) years of experience managing donor-funded community development projects.
  • Strong leadership, stakeholder engagement, and project management skills.
  • Experience in budgeting,
  • grant management, and
    compliance with donor regulations.

2. Field Coordinator – Food Security & Environmental Protection (2 Positions)

Reports to: Project Coordinator

Job Purpose

The Field Coordinator will lead initiatives in food security and environmental conservation, ensuring sustainable agricultural practices and climate resilience within communities.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assess community needs and develop food security strategies.
  • Provide training on climate-smart agriculture, agroforestry, and conservation practices.
  • Mobilize communities for environmental protection initiatives, such as reforestation and soil conservation.
  • Work with local authorities and organizations to integrate food security efforts into district development plans.
  • Monitor project progress and ensure compliance with environmental best practices.

Qualifications & Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in agriculture, Environmental Sclence, Public Health, or Social Sciences.
  • Three (3) years of experience in food security and environmental conservation projects.
  • Strong facilitation, training, and community mobilization skills.

3. Field Coordinator – Social Economic Empowerment (2 Positions)

Reports to: Project Coordinator

Job Purpose

This role focuses on empowering vulnerable groups through financial inclusion, entrepreneurship, and livelihood enhancement initiatives.

Key Responsibilities

  • Implement skills development and income-generating activities.
  • Provide financial literacy and business training to community groups.
  • Work with microfinance institutions and local organizations to enhance access to credit.
  • Ensure gender-sensitive programming and social inclusion in economic empowerment activities.
  • Monitor project outcomes and provide recommendations for improvement.

Qualifications & Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in economics, Commerce, Business Administration, Community Psychology, or Social Sciences.
  • Three (3 years of experience in economic development or livelihood projects.
  • Strong understanding of entrepreneurship and sustainable income generation models.

4. Field Coordinator – Water, Sanitation, and Hygiene (WASH) (2 Positions)

Reports to: Project Coordinator

Job Purpose

The Field Coordinator will oversee WASH interventions, ensuring improved access to clean water, sanitation, and hygiene within communities.

Key Responsibilities

  • Implement WASH infrastructure projects and hygiene promotion campaigns.
  • Work with local authorities to ensure sustainable water and sanitation solutions.
  • Conduct training and awareness sessions on hygiene best practices.
  • Monitor WASH activities and ensure adherence to technical standards.

Qualifications & Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in public health, Health Sciences, Social Work, or Education.
  • Three (3) years of experience in WASH programming or related development projects.
  • Strong facilitation, coordination, and community mobilization skills.

5. Administrative Accountant (2 Positions)

Reports to: Project Coordinator

Job Purpose

The Assistant Accountant will provide financial management support, ensuring compliance with donor regulations and The Salvation Army’s financial policies.

Key Responsibilitles

• Prepare financial reports, budgets, and cash flow statements.

  • Process payments, track expenses, and ensure accurate financial records.
  • Assist with audits and financial reviews.
    Support staff in budget management and grant compliance.
  • Provide administrative support, including scheduling meetings, managing correspondence and maintaining records
  • Manage office supplies, budgets and reimbursement as needed
  • Maintain the organization inventory and management of Stores

Qualifications & Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in finance, Accounting, or related field.
  • Three (3) years of experience in accounting for donor-funded projects.
  • Proficiency in accounting software and financial reporting.

6. Data Officer (1 Position)

Reports to: Project Coordinator (Dotted line to M&E Specialist) Job Purpose

The Data Officer will oversee data collection, analysis, and reporting to ensure informed decision-making and project effectiveness.

Key Responsibilities

  • Maintain project databases and ensure data accuracy.
  • Analyze project data and generate reports for evaluation.
  • Train staff on data collection and best practices.
  • Collaborate with IT teams to manage data security risks.
  • Ensure data is collected, stored and used effectively.

Qualifications & Experience

  • Diploma in Information Technology or related field
  • Three (3) years of experience in data management and analysis.
  • Proficiency in data tools (Excel, SPSS, PowerPoint).
