AIRD’s objective is to offer operational support, including but not limited to supply chain, logistics, construction, infrastructure, environment, livelihoods and WASH in partnership with relief and development organizations that focus on disaster-affected and development-oriented areas. Job Summary: The purpose of this role is maintaining a clean, safe, and organized office environment, ensuring that the workspace remains hygienic and operational efficiency is upheld.
Key Duties and Responsibilities:
- Maintain high standards of cleanliness and hygiene throughout the office.
- Ensure that cleaning practices adhere to all safety regulations and protocols.
- Manage waste effectively to ensure proper disposal and recycling practices.
- Assist in maintaining an organized and efficient warehouse/ workshop/ office environment.
- Ensure that cleaning tools and equipment are properly maintained and stored.
- Help prevent pest infestations through proper cleaning and waste management.
- Maintain cleanliness in restrooms, break rooms, and other common areas.
- Complete all cleaning tasks on schedule and to the required standards.
- Minimize the environmental impact of cleaning activities through use of eco-friendly cleaning products, reducing water and chemical usage where possible, and follow sustainable cleaning practices.
- Communicate effectively with supervisors and staff regarding cleaning needs and issues.
- Report any damages, hazards, or areas that require attention, keep supervisors informed of completed tasks, and communicate any supply needs or issues with cleaning equipment.
- Adapt to changing cleaning requirements based on warehouse/ workshop/ office activities and needs by adjusting cleaning schedules or priorities.
- Respond to urgent cleaning requests promptly, and be flexible in handling various tasks that may arise.
Qualifications, Skills and Experience:
- A minimum of UCE certificate.
- Experience in a similar role in an office setting is an advantage.
- Should be physically fit.
