Head of Finance & Administration BUGANDA Land Board

1. HEAD FINANCE & ADMINISTRATION

Reports to:

Core responsibility:

To provide leadership in the effective management of Finance within the company aligned to the business strategy.

Specific duties and responsibilities include:

Financial Management

  1. Provide financial expertise and counsel to both the CEO and the Finance committee of the Board with respect to the organization’s financial position and performance, especially in the areas of budget discipline and cash flow monitoring.
  2. Ensure that the financial and administrative systems function effectively and efficiently in accordance with the company’s policies and procedures manuals.
  3. Manage the operational and strategic functions of the finance department to ensure compliance and efficiency.
  4. Oversee the development and monitoring of budgets including overall company budget, project budgets, annual expenditure projections, annual cash flow projections, and forecast financial requirements on a regular basis.
  5. Ensure timely production and dissemination of periodic reports to the various stakeholders.
  6. Manage the financial relationships with external parties and liaise with them on behalf of BLB.
  7. Develop and review financial and administrative policies, processes and procedures.

Administration, including Transport & Estates Operations:

  1. Oversee administrative functions as well as facilities to ensure efficient and consistent operational processes.
  2. Ensure effective integration of all finance, transport and administrative services, as well as effective communication and collaboration between technical and support staff.
  3. Ensure effective management of BLB assets and premises.

Academic Qualifications and Experience:

  1. A Bachelor’s degree in Commerce (Accounting), Business Administration (Accounting, Finance or its equivalent), Statistics, Economics or in any other business related field from an accredited university.
  2. A Master’s degree in Business Administration (Finance), Accounting and Finance or any related field is an added advantage.
  3. Must have completed a professional accounting qualification such as ACCA and CPA.
  4. Certification in IT related courses is an added advantage.
  5. At least 5 years working experience, preferably at a senior management level, in strategic financial planning, budgeting and risk management in a similar industry

  6. Ability to influence, negotiate & engage diversity.
  7. Proven capacity for analytical and interpretative problem anticipation and solving.
  8. Ability to prepare management accounts for internal use.
