Job Description

The Manager FP&A will maintain and enhance analytical tools to drive the charity’s financial performance and analysis. The successful candidate will work closely with department leaders across the organization,  coordinating with local and global teams to drive financial analysis and planning and providing insight to business leaders to aid in sound decision-making. Along with FP&A, the successful candidate would help the team in special projects such as ERP implementation.

Roles & Responsibilities

Key Responsibilities 

  • Provide insightful commentary on both financial and non-financial performance data to help drive better performance across the executive, regional, and country teams.
  • Lead monthly performance reviews with the executive teams to review and discuss key deliverables and financial metrics.
  • Drive the global forecasting and budgeting process, delivering a consolidated forecast with the  CFO and MD with a specific focus on risks and opportunities.
  • Lead the budgeting process for developing an annual consolidated budget, mid-term budgeting, and quarterly forecasting along with long-term projections based on trends, organizational strategy, and interaction with cross-functional departments.
  • Lead liquidity and cash flow forecasting process of the organization, with a special focus on restricted and unrestricted cash and required reserve.
  • Support the Senior Leadership Team (SLT) in identifying key metrics that tie back to financial performance and sustainability.
  • Perform ad hoc analysis and financial modeling where required to assist in management decision-making.
  • Continuously look for ways to improve processes and streamline budget and forecast cycles.
  • Liaise with team members for projects and departmental and office budgets.
  • Monitor and coordinate with multiple departments to ensure that administrative policies and budgeting align with the organization’s requirements.

 

Special Projects and Grant Reporting 

  • Lead the generation of required dashboards in sage Intacct accounting Software or using another  analytics tool (power BI or other)
  • Identify and implement process improvement initiatives in collaboration with cross-team stakeholders.
  • Support Accounting during statutory and ad-hoc audits.
  • Provide financial support to Partnerships for Grant reporting and funder applications.

 

People Development and Other Duties 

  • Manage, develop, and lead a team, supporting them with their development to ensure improved output to the wider business.
  • Cultivate and promote a team culture of high engagement and a team environment with career recognition and succession.
  • Participation in organizational activities including weekly staff meetings
  • Other duties as required

Requirements and Experience

Qualifications & Experience 

  • Undergraduate degree in Accounting, Business, or Finance.
  • CPA, ACCA, CA, or other equivalent designation is an asset.
  • 5+ years of financial planning experience and experience in non-profits are assets.

 

Required Skills & Competencies 

  • Understanding of data privacy standards; integrity, honesty, critical thinking skills
  • Experience working with analytics software; be a strong user of analytics software and Excel.
  • Excellent numerical, analytical, and data visualization skills and be able to utilize these in a new organization to drive change.
  • High attention to detail and strong problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Experience or knowledge of SAGE Intacct or a similar system is preferred.
  • Previous knowledge of ERP implementation is an asset.
