EMERGENCY was founded in Milan, Italy, in 1994. It was recognized as an NGO in 1999 and as an official partner of the UN Department of Public Information in 2006. Since 2015, we have been part of the United Nations Economic and Social Council (ECOSOC) as an Associate with Special Consultative Status.

 

Job Summary:   Coordinate, supervise, and support the administrative team, managing tasks and implementing procedures and processes in collaboration with other departments, the Country Director, and HQ.

 

Key Duties and Responsibilities:   The main responsibilities and tasks are:

  • Ensure the proper management of administrative team and that administration procedures are implemented as outlined in EMERGENCY guidelines and protocols;
  • Ensure the proper management of the project’s administrative and financial documents;
  • Ensure the proper management of cash funds, bank accounts, and monthly reconciliation;
  • Ensure the proper administrative management of national staff (e.g.: payslip);
  • Prepare monthly reports (cash flow, reporting files, etc.) and submit them to HQ on time, always highlighting any relevant issues;
  • Coordinate and support internal and external financial audits;
  • Ensure compliance with local laws and taxes;

Qualifications, Skills and Experience:

  • Degree in Economics, Political Science, or International Relations;
  • At least 3 years of experience in the role, gained in profit or non-profit organizational contexts;
  • Preferable knowledge of the funding lines and procedures of major institutional donors;
  • Experience in maintaining the cashbook;
  • Experience in managing receipts and payments;
  • Experience in reconciling bank and cash accounts.

 

Working Conditions

  • Contract of employment: 12 months contract (6 months probation period) with possibility of renewal;
  • Social benefits: GPA, National Social Insurance, Health Insurance, Housing and Transport allowance
  • Leaves: 21 paid leave days and additional leave types
  • Duty station: Entebbe
  • Starting date: as soon as possible.
