Latek Stay Alliance Uganda is an umbrella organization of social entrepreneurs, with the primary objective of reducing extreme poverty through a social enterprise approach that promotes sustainability and impact.

 

Job Summary:   Under the supervision of the Executive Director and based in Kampala, Uganda, the Senior Programs & Business Development Manager will collaborate closely with Latek Social Entrepreneur members to ensure the effective implementation and success of the social enterprise model. This role places a strong emphasis on achieving community impact and prioritizing set KPIs.

 

Key Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Spearhead program development by ensuring the creation of high-quality management tools and documents focused on viability, SMART goals, continuous quality improvement, and achieving KPIs with a business-oriented mindset.
  • Provide risk management and business development support, including market research, R&D, business planning, training, and one-on-one coaching or mentorship for Latek members.
  • Operationalisation and continuous execution improvement of internal process and systems including periodic reporting coordination.
  • Oversee the preparation, quality assurance, and management of MOUs and contracts with implementing partners.
  • Strongly support program and non-program process optimization
  • Provide comprehensive support to Latek’s Monitoring and Evaluation activities, including collaborative program cycle evaluations and documentation with all stakeholders.
  • Risk management by supporting strategic decision-making, process and non-process optimization
  • Provide hands-on support for the day-to-day operational management of a designated program as needed, ensuring seamless execution from time to time.
  • Undertake additional responsibilities as required by the supervisor

Qualifications, Skills and Experience:

Education

  • A university degree, preferably in Agribusiness, or another business-related field, with demonstrated knowledge in business development.
  • Postgraduate qualifications or a Master’s degree in a business-related field will be an added advantage.

Experience

  • A minimum of 5 years’ experience in agricultural (based or related) business enterprises.
  • Proven experience working with social enterprises at a managerial level in dynamic, fast-paced environments requiring flexibility.
  • Strong ICT skills and expertise in data analysis.
  • Excellent training and facilitation skills.
  • Analytical and strategic thinking capabilities, along with experience in scaling up operations and field-based work.
