Job Summary: The Entrepreneurship Program Coordinator will play a crucial role in managing and executing our entrepreneurship support programs. This position requires a highly motivated and organized individual with a passion for entrepreneurship and a strong understanding of the Ugandan business landscape.
Key Duties and Responsibilities:
Program Management:
- Oversee the entire program lifecycle, from sourcing potential entrepreneurs to post-investment support.
- Develop and implement comprehensive program plans and timelines.
- Monitor and evaluate program effectiveness and make necessary adjustments.
- Entrepreneur Sourcing and Selection:
- Identify and source potential entrepreneurs through various channels, including online platforms, partnerships, and community outreach.
- Develop and implement a rigorous selection process to identify high-potential entrepreneurs.
- Conduct initial screening and interviews to assess entrepreneurs’ eligibility and potential.
Training and Capacity Building:
- Organize and facilitate training programs on various topics, including business planning, financial management, marketing, and legal compliance.
- Identify and partner with external trainers and experts to deliver high-quality training.
- Monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of training programs and make necessary improvements.
Investor Relations:
- Build and maintain strong relationships with potential investors, including angel investors, venture capitalists, and impact investors.
- Facilitate connections between entrepreneurs and investors through matchmaking events, pitch sessions, and one-on-one meetings.
- Provide ongoing support to entrepreneurs throughout the investment process, including due diligence and negotiation.
Monitoring and Evaluation:
- Track and monitor the progress of participating entrepreneurs, including their business performance, job creation, and social impact.
- Collect and analyze data to measure the overall impact of the program.
- Prepare regular reports on program activities, outcomes, and recommendations.
Qualifications, Skills and Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree in business administration, economics, or a related field.
- Proven experience in entrepreneurship, business development, or project management.
- Strong understanding of the Ugandan business ecosystem and challenges faced by entrepreneurs
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills
- Ability to multi-task and manage multiple projects simultaneously
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and other relevant software.
- Passion for social impact and sustainable development
