Our client is a Manufacturing Company based in Kampala, Uganda with extensive expertise in Leather Shoes Manufacturing Mainly Premium Leather School Shoes, Safety Leather Shoes, Security Shoes and casual shoes. On behalf of our client we are looking for competent and experienced Business Development Officers (2) to be based in Kampala, Uganda.

Reports To: The Business Development Manager

Duty Station:  Kampala, Uganda

 

Job Summary:   The role of Business Development Officer involves identifying new business opportunities, building and maintaining relationships with clients, and driving sales growth. This role also involves conducting market research, developing strategic plans and promoting the company’s products to prospective clients.

 

Key Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Conduct research to identify potential markets and clients.
  • Maintain consistent contact with existing clients.
  • Manage sales pipeline.
  • Analyze the market and establish competitive advantage.
  • Track metrics to ensure set targets are hit
  • Develop strategies to approach and acquire new customers.
  • Establish strong relationships with prospective and existing clients.
  • Act as a liaison between the company and clients, addressing their needs and concerns.
  • Meet or exceed sales and revenue targets by promoting products.
  • Develop and deliver persuasive sales presentations and proposals to close deals.
  • Represent the company at industry events, conferences, and networking opportunities.
  • Build partnerships with other businesses to foster growth and collaboration.

Qualifications, Skills and Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree/diploma in Business Administration, Sales, Marketing or a related field.
  • Understanding of market trends and customer needs.
  • At least 1 year experience in Marketing and Sales.
  • Strong knowledge of CRM.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Ability to exceed sales targets.
  • Excellent Microsoft Office and CRM software skills.
  • Strong negotiation skills.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.

 

Barriers to Success in Role

  • Limited or lack of technical knowledge about sales and marketing.
  • Inability to use Microsoft Office and CRM software.
