Job Summary: The Principal Officer- Bancassurance will lead all aspects of the Bancassurance Business including but not limited to Management of underwriter relationships, Business Growth, Revenue Assurance and ensuring Profitability in line with the annual operating plan.
Key Duties and Responsibilities:
- Develop, execute, and monitor progress of the bancassurance strategy with possible reviews from time to time.
- Spearhead product development and innovation of bancassurance products in line with market expectations.
- Train staff to enhance product knowledge, sales and revenue from bancassurance products.
- Manage relations with partner insurance companies and other stakeholders.
- Represent UGAFODE at bancassurance conferences, business meetings and industry events.
- Drive the compliance agenda whilst executing bancassurance duties in line with the Insurance (Bancassurance) Regulations.
- Prepare and submit monthly & annual reports on the performance of the bancassurance business to Management and the Insurance Regulatory Authority.
- Render the necessary assistance to the policyholders or claimants or beneficiaries in complying with the requirements for settlement of claims by the insurer.
- Follow up and respond to any client complaints and enquiries or claims lodged.
Qualifications, Skills and Experience:
- The applicant must hold a bachelor’s degree in business or any related field
- Possession of a Diploma in insurance is a must.
- Marketing and Sales qualifications would be an advantage.
- At least five years working experience in insurance in the areas of underwriting, claims, finance or regulation
- Ability to identify business opportunities from market intelligence
- Logical thinking with creative problem-solving ability
- Strong networking and business relationship management skills
- Good team player and enthusiastic.
- Excellent communication and negotiation skills
- Good report making skills
