About the Project

The Seas of Change project operates at the nexus of regenerative agriculture (RA) and productive use of renewable energy (PURE). This innovative program leverages existing initiatives and expertise to achieve systems transformation within the RA-PURE nexus. SNV serves as a facilitator and coordinator, building movements and partnerships across Uganda and East Africa.

Job Summary

The Finance Officer for the Seas of Change project will provide financial oversight, ensuring accurate, timely, and compliant financial administration. This role supports project finances and ensures adherence to SNV and donor guidelines.

Key Responsibilities

Financial Advice and Information

  • Provide financial data, analysis, and advice for decision-making.
  • Balance project interests with corporate standards, donor regulations, and business requirements.

Financial Accounting and Administration

  • Ensure correct allocation of costs and time, aligning with SNV and donor guidelines.
  • Manage internal and external financial reporting requirements.
  • Support intercompany financial processes as needed.

Financial Planning and Control

  • Ensure compliance with internal and external financial regulations.
  • Execute financial activities such as budgeting, forecasting, and monitoring audits.

Reporting

  • Prepare financial reports for donors, ensuring accuracy and timeliness.
  • Provide insights into project financial performance and mitigate risks.

Business Development

  • Develop and refine budgets for proposals in alignment with donor requirements.
  • Register and maintain coherence of financial data in information systems.

Qualifications and Skills

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in finance or accounting.
  • Experience: Minimum of 6 years in financial management.
  • Expertise: Strong knowledge of finance, business processes, and project accounting.
  • Skills: Advanced proficiency in Excel, attention to detail, teamwork, and excellent organizational abilities.
  • Additional Competencies: Integrity, result orientation, and service-mindedness.
