Role Overview
The Training Manager will develop and implement strategic training policies to create sustainable security training solutions. The role requires leadership and strategic insight to guide the organization’s training initiatives and ensure compliance with security standards and best practices.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide leadership to the training school team.
- Develop security training course curricula, including learning objectives and core competencies.
- Standardize and contextualize security training materials.
- Manage the selection, screening, and relationships with third-party training vendors.
- Stay updated on humanitarian sector best training practices, developments, and tools.
- Conduct regular reviews and report on compliance.
- Plan administrative and logistical aspects of training delivery.
- Build capacity, provide technical guidance, and enhance the competency of recruits and staff in security practices.
Qualifications, Skills, and Experience
Education:
- A bachelor’s degree in education or a related field.
- Experience in security training, police, or UPDF is an added advantage.
- Must be below 50 years of age.
Experience:
- Minimum of five (5) years in a similar position, with at least three (3) years at a supervisory level.
- Proven experience in delivering training in a dynamic environment.
- Experience managing teams and adapting to fast-paced situations.
Skills and Abilities:
- Strong management and leadership skills.
- Excellent communication, influencing, and negotiation abilities.
- Sensitivity to diversity, cultural differences, and gender issues.
- Ability to organize workloads, meet tight deadlines, and manage multiple tasks effectively.
- Competence in drafting reports, writing procedures, and creating duty rosters.
- Disaster recovery management expertise.
- Exceptional interpersonal and teamwork skills.

- Creativity and initiative in problem-solving.
- Calm demeanor under pressure and strong decision-making capabilities.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team.
