Partnership & Grants Officer WAR Child Holland

The Partnership & Grants Officer will provide operational support to the Senior Partnership and Grants Coordinator in strengthening existing partnerships and developing new partnerships. (S)He will be responsible for WC’s online grants management portal/salesforce, including updating the system, creating accounts, opportunities, reports and obtaining approvals for the entries.

The Partnership & Grants Officer shall participate in research on funding opportunities relevant to the WC country programme. Support the Senior Partnership and Grants Coordinator in developing partnership documents, including cooperation/funding agreements, concept notes etc. Update the WC online platform for grants management. Secure approvals for the WC online platform. Prepare documents for the bid committee reviews and approvals. Support the Senior Partnership and Grants Coordinator in conducting partner assessments and due diligence for implementing partners.

Major roles and responsibilities;

1. Manage the WC Online Partnership and Grants Salesforce/Rafiki Portal

  • Create accounts and opportunities for new funding ambitions
  • Create new opportunities and enter the records
  • Conduct regular update on statuses of all opportunities, grants and projects in the system.
  • Generate reports from the systems for progress performance updates.

2. Portfolio coordination, strengthening and maintenance.

  • Support in identification of funding opportunities through research and networking
  • Support in conducting analysis of funding opportunities
  • Contribute ideas for fundraising/resource mobilization

3. Partnerships Development and Management

  • Support in due diligence and partnership assessments
  • Support in drafting MoU/collaboration, licensing and teaming agreements
  • Promote localization strategy
  • Represent WC in partnership foras

Qualifications, Competencies and Requirements;

  • Bachelor’s degree in International Business & Development, or equivalent demonstrable experience in partnerships and business development, and management for social work and community development projects.
  • Minimum of 3 years of work experience in the area of partnerships, grants management and fundraising;
  • Knowledge of and experience in humanitarian programmes in Uganda;
  • Knowledge of and demonstrated experience in partnerships with at least 2 of the following donors: European Commission, ECHO, DFID, USG (including USAID) and UN agencies; additional experience with other donors such as SIDA, SDC and GAC is desirable;
  • Familiarity with key actors and demonstrated experience in developing, building and maintain strategic partnerships with these actors;
  • Proven track record in partnerships and grants management in interventions like child protection, education and or MHPSS an advantage;
  • A good understanding of humanitarian principles and established international standards in humanitarian settings for refugees and other marginalized populations, especially children and youth;
  • Relationship-building, diplomacy and networking skills.
  • Excellent English writing ability and verbal skills for project proposals, reports and communications
  • Politically and culturally sensitive with qualities of patience, tact and empathy
  • Ability to work well under pressure with diverse teams from all backgrounds and level
  • Proactive and able to work independently with minimal supervision
