Role Overview

The Accountant will join the Finance team, focusing on preparing financial reports, conducting reconciliations, performing profitability analyses, and managing assigned projects.

Key Duties and Responsibilities

  • Expense Monitoring: Oversee faculty and unit expenses to ensure expenditure control and compliance.
  • Financial Reporting: Prepare monthly management, financial, and cash flow reports.
  • Accounts Management: Manage a full set of accounts and ensure timely closing and reporting.
  • Budgeting and Forecasting: Perform cash flow forecasting, budgeting, and collaborate with operations and faculty teams for variance and cost analysis.
  • Data Analysis: Develop financial models, analyze data, and provide actionable insights for decision-making.
  • Cost Tracking: Prepare and monitor faculty and project costs, ensuring accurate reporting.
  • Asset Management: Maintain an updated fixed assets ledger.
  • Audit Coordination: Lead readiness and coordination for financial audits.

Personal Specifications

Education:

  • First degree in BCOM or BBA (Accounting option).
  • Professional qualification (ACCA or CPA).

Experience:

  • Minimum of 4 years of relevant experience in a busy commercial environment.

Skills:

  • Proficiency in Pastel accounting software.
  • Advanced capabilities in Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint.
  • Strong teamwork, communication, and interpersonal skills.
