Job Title: Head of Sales – East Africa
Reports to: Managing Director
Location: Kampala, Uganda (with regional travel)
Job Summary
SR Afro Chicks and Breeders Ltd (SR KUKU), is a leading poultry producer in Uganda, specializing in frozen chicken, eggs, day-old chicks, and poultry feeds. We seek an experienced Head of Sales to lead our sales team, drive revenue growth, and expand our market presence across East Africa.
Key Responsibilities:
A. Sales Strategy and Planning:
- Develop and implement sales strategies to achieve revenue targets.
- Conduct market research and competitor analysis.
- Identify new business opportunities and partnerships.
B. Team Management:
- Lead and manage a high-performing sales team.
- Recruit, train, and develop sales staff.
- Set performance targets and evaluate team members.
C. Sales Operations:
- Manage sales processes, from lead generation to closure.
- Negotiate and close large-scale deals.
- Ensure timely delivery and customer satisfaction.
- Product Knowledge:
- Regional Market Development:
- Performance Monitoring:
- Develop in-depth knowledge of our products (frozen chicken, eggs, day-old chicks, poultry feeds).|
- Communicate product benefits and unique selling points.
- Expand our presence in East Africa (Uganda, Kenya, Tanzania, Rwanda, Burundi).
- Establish and maintain relationships with distributors, wholesalers, and retailers.
- Track sales performance metrics (revenue, volume, market share).
- Analyze sales data to inform business decisions.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Marketing, or related field.
- At least 10+ years of sales experience in FMCG or agribusiness
- Experience in Poultry sector sales in the East African market shall have an added advantage
- Proven track record of sales success and team leadership.
- Strong understanding of East African markets.
- Sales certification (e.g., CPS, CSM).
- Excellent communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills.
