Job Summary

The Procurement Officer will support strategic and efficient procurement operations. The role involves handling procurement planning, vendor management, purchase order processing, and cost control to ensure that Microhaem Scientifics secures the best value and quality for its purchases.

Key Responsibilities

• Procurement Planning and Strategy:
  • Develop procurement strategies aligned with organizational goals.
  • Conduct market research to identify suitable suppliers.
  • Build and maintain strong supplier relationships.
• Vendor Management:
  • Evaluate suppliers on pricing, quality, and delivery efficiency.
  • Negotiate and manage supplier contracts to optimize terms and reduce costs.
  • Sustain relationships with key suppliers for continuity and quality.
• Purchase Order Management:
  • Create and process purchase orders following established procedures.
  • Monitor purchase orders to ensure timely and quality delivery.
  • Address and resolve discrepancies with suppliers.
• Spend Analysis and Cost Control:
  • Analyze procurement spending for cost-saving opportunities.
  • Implement strategies to optimize procurement costs, including vendor consolidation and volume discounts.
  • Collaborate with other departments to reduce procurement expenses.
• Compliance and Risk Management:
  • Ensure compliance with relevant laws, regulations, and policies.
  • Conduct risk assessments to identify procurement risks and implement mitigation strategies.
  • Promote ethical and sustainable procurement practices.
• Other Responsibilities:
  • Stay updated on industry best practices and new technologies.
  • Participate in cross-functional projects related to procurement.
  • Provide training and support to the procurement team.

Qualifications and Skills

• Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Supply Chain Management, or a related field.
• At least 3 years of experience in procurement or a similar role.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent negotiation and communication abilities.
• Knowledge of procurement best practices and industry standards.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and procurement software.
• Ability to work both independently and collaboratively.
• High attention to detail and ability to meet deadlines.
