Position: Accounting Officer – Accounts Payable and Treasury

Job Description:
M-KOPA is seeking a detail-oriented Accounting Officer – Accounts Payable and Treasury to join our Finance team. As we continue to scale, this role is critical in supporting our financial reporting and accounting processes, ensuring accuracy and compliance. The role involves managing month-end reports, overseeing reconciliations, and handling accounts payable and cash management to ensure all financial transactions align with accounting standards.
Key Responsibilities:
- Accounting and Reporting:
- Prepare month-end reports, process accruals, prepayments, and journal entries.
- Maintain the Fixed Assets Register and perform General Ledger and Balance Sheet reconciliations.
- Accounts Payable and Treasury Management:
- Oversee inter-company transactions, supplier payments, and employee expense claims workflows.
- Monitor cash balances, ensure funds are available for disbursements, and complete bank reconciliations with zero variances.
- Financial Planning and Compliance:
- Assist in budgeting and forecasting to help the finance team meet its strategic objectives.
- Ensure compliance with relevant accounting standards.
Qualifications, Skills, and Experience:
- Education:
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, or a related field. CPA or ACCA qualifications (completed or in progress) are preferred.
- Experience and Skills:
- Strong understanding of accounting principles with experience in financial reporting and reconciliations.
- Proficiency in Excel (e.g., VLOOKUPs, pivot tables) and accounting software.
- Familiarity with Australian Accounting Standards is an added advantage.
- Excellent attention to detail, strong organizational skills, and the ability to work independently and collaboratively.
