KOFIH, a public foundation affiliated with South Korea’s Ministry of Health and Welfare, is seeking a qualified Project Assistant to support a WASH project in Uganda’s Busoga Region. Established in 2006, KOFIH has supported healthcare initiatives in over 30 countries, emphasizing sustainable healthcare cooperation, humanitarian assistance, and public health improvements.


Job Summary

The Project Assistant will provide vital support to KOFIH’s WASH project by handling research, stakeholder engagement, and project monitoring responsibilities. Working closely with the Project Management team, the successful candidate will assist in coordinating and implementing project activities, as well as maintaining documentation, reporting, and risk management practices.


Key Responsibilities

The Project Assistant will be responsible for:

  • Administrative and Logistical Support: Assist project management by compiling reports, conducting research, and handling other administrative tasks as needed.
  • Stakeholder Communication: Manage communications with key stakeholders, including government bodies, project partners, and the KOFIH Uganda office.
  • Monitoring and Evaluation: Support project monitoring and evaluation efforts, ensuring performance tracking and risk management protocols are in place.
  • Documentation and Reporting: Oversee the preparation of project updates, documentation, and reports, ensuring accuracy and timely completion.
  • Research and Insight Generation: Conduct research on relevant topics to inform project decisions and support the achievement of project goals.

Qualifications, Skills, and Experience

Candidates must meet the following criteria to be considered for the Project Assistant role:

  • Experience: At least 3 years of project management experience, preferably in the health or WASH sectors.
  • Educational Background: Academic qualifications in public health, public policy, business administration, strategy, or related fields.
  • Technical Skills: Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).
  • Communication Abilities: Strong skills in both written and verbal communication, report writing, and research.
  • Stakeholder Management: Experience working with government agencies, NGOs, or other inter-governmental bodies.
  • Project Coordination: Proven ability in performance and risk management, with a proactive and analytical approach to project tasks.
  • Adaptability: Ability to work under pressure, manage multiple tasks, and meet deadlines effectively.
