Key Responsibilities
Financial Responsibilities
- Train and guide local partners to adhere to UK Government financial and compliance standards.
- Review and support partners’ financial documentation, assisting with budget preparation, expenditure monitoring, and compliance with reporting requirements.
- Compile quarterly finance reports with partners, ensuring timely submission of complete financial and narrative documentation.
Project Implementation
- Collaborate with the Project Manager to assist local partners in planning and executing activities per the annual project plan.
- Spend significant time with partners, ensuring compliance, especially at the Textile Recycling Hub (MTAC) and the Uganda Tailors Association.
- Monitor partner activities and report any delays or issues to ensure project continuity.
Monitoring and Evaluation
- Support the collection of data on project impact, capturing stories of change from tailors trained through the project.
- Collaborate on reporting tools that track progress and provide insights into project outcomes.
Administrative and Communication Support
- Become familiar with donor compliance rules and ensure WasteAid and its partners adhere to financial, M&E, and communication guidelines.
- Develop and share success stories from the project for use in newsletters, social media, and press releases.
Qualifications
Essential
- Minimum of 2 years in a Project Finance Officer role or a similar field, with a strong focus on donor compliance, monitoring, and evaluation.
- Exceptional written communication skills, adept at creating content for different audiences and platforms.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively, maintaining resilience under pressure.
Desirable
- Previous experience with international nonprofits.
- Knowledge of waste management, environmental sustainability, or international development.
