Salary: UGX 6,067,165.22 monthly

Length of Contract: 1 year, renewable depending on funding

Reports to: Head of Global Projects

Direct Reports: 6 Youth Advisory Board members across Zambia, Uganda, and Kenya

Expected Travel: National (including rural areas) and international travel required

Job Summary:

Restless Development Uganda is seeking a talented individual for the role of Programme Coordinator for the SHESOARs Programme. This seven-year initiative, funded by Global Affairs Canada, aims to empower out-of-school adolescent girls (ages 10-19) to enjoy their health-related rights and achieve economic empowerment. The Programme Coordinator will provide strategic leadership and operational support to the Youth Advisory Board, ensuring meaningful youth engagement in the project across Uganda, Kenya, and Zambia.

Key Duties and Responsibilities:

Programme Delivery and Reporting:

  • Mobilize, coordinate, and manage the performance of Youth Advisory Board members from Kenya, Uganda, and Zambia.
  • Lead participatory planning for annual and quarterly Youth Advisory Board work plans.
  • Provide technical assistance for partner engagement tasks.
  • Develop and update Youth Advisory Board policies, guidelines, and reporting tools.
  • Facilitate YAB meetings and review sessions for continuous feedback and improvement.
  • Support YAB members in attending relevant project meetings and facilitate transition processes for members leaving the board.

Team and Relationship Management:

  • Oversee the performance management of six Youth Advisory Board members.
  • Foster a safe and enabling environment for YAB members to thrive.
  • Develop capacity-building and mentorship programs for YAB members.
  • Liaise with project partners to address emerging issues.

Financial Planning and Management:

  • Ensure compliance with financial standards and manage budget discussions with the finance manager.
  • Coordinate timely disbursement of funds and track budget expenditures.

Other Duties as Required:

  • Flexibility to work on weekends or late nights as needed for project demands.

  • Strong planning, coordination, and communication skills.
  • Experience in multicultural environments and understanding of youth leadership in governance.
