Job Summary
The Project Officer will work closely with the Program Manager to implement AIRD’s strategic objectives, including program management, monitoring and evaluation (M&E), proposal development, fundraising, and communications. This role involves coordination with country offices, headquarters departments, and donor agencies to improve program quality and foster organizational learning.
Key Responsibilities
Program Management
- Coordinate AIRD projects, ensuring alignment with organizational goals, timelines, and budgets.
- Track program milestones, address potential delays, and propose adjustments as needed.
- Analyze program data for reports on project outcomes, impacts, and lessons learned for stakeholders.
Monitoring, Evaluation, Accountability, and Learning (MEAL)
- Monitor and validate program data to support evidence-based decisions.
- Assist in designing and implementing a comprehensive MEAL framework.
- Document project achievements and share learnings across AIRD.
- Compile monthly donor-funded activity metrics and track impact.
Proposal Development
- Collaborate in preparing proposal drafts, ensuring alignment with donor compliance standards.
- Maintain a library of templates, donor guidelines, and successful past proposals.
Country Program Reports
- Review and consolidate country reports to ensure consistency and quality.
- Provide insights on program performance and address country-specific issues.
Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP)
- Ensure accurate ERP data management for timely reporting and support country teams in resolving discrepancies.
Fundraising and Communication
- Assist in developing content that highlights AIRD’s impact for donor outreach.
- Work with the Communications team to produce visual content for updates and annual reports.
Other Duties
- Support program documentation, grant administration, and case studies.
- Perform risk management and maintain project documentation.
Qualifications
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Project Management, Development Studies, M&E, or a related field. A master’s degree with 2 years of experience is advantageous.
- Experience: Minimum of 3 years in program management or M&E, preferably within an INGO setting focused on humanitarian or development cooperation.
- Skills: Analytical and organizational skills, strong communication, proficiency in Microsoft Office and ERP software, and multicultural collaboration ability.
- Languages: Proficiency in English; French is an asset.
