Machine Operator/Technician Microhaem Scientifics

The Machine Operator is responsible for the safe and efficient operation of production machinery, ensuring high-quality output and adherence to production schedules. This role includes setting up machines, monitoring performance, troubleshooting minor issues, and maintaining cleanliness and safety standards on the production line. Machine Operators work closely with production supervisors and the maintenance team to ensure optimal machine performance and minimal downtime.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
1. Machine Setup and Operation
• Prepare and set up machines for production runs according to standard operating procedures (SOPs).
• Adjust machine settings such as speed, feed, and temperature to optimize performance and ensure product quality.
• Conduct pre-operation inspections to ensure that machines are ready for use and free of defects.
2. Production Monitoring
• Monitor machine operations during the production shift to ensure smooth performance and adherence to production standards.
• Regularly inspect output to ensure quality standards are met, promptly addressing any deviations.
• Keep a close watch on indicators such as pressure, temperature, or speed to maintain consistent production quality.
3. Quality Assurance
• Conduct periodic quality checks during production to ensure products meet specifications and quality requirements.
• Record data on production quality, quantities produced, and any deviations or defects observed.
• Report any quality issues to the production supervisor or quality assurance team immediately.
4. Troubleshooting and Minor Maintenance
• Identify and resolve minor machine malfunctions or issues, adjusting controls or changing settings as needed.
• Perform basic maintenance tasks, such as cleaning, lubricating, or replacing parts, to ensure machine longevity and performance.
• Collaborate with the maintenance team for complex repairs or if a machine needs to be taken offline.
5. Safety and Compliance
• Follow all health and safety guidelines, wearing personal protective equipment (PPE) as required.
• Ensure that machines operate in a safe condition and that safety features (e.g., guards, emergency stops) are functional.
• Maintain a clean and organized work area, disposing of waste materials properly and ensuring no safety hazards.
6. Documentation and Reporting
• Complete shift logs, production reports, and quality checklists accurately and on time.
• Record any machine issues, downtime, or deviations encountered during the shift and report them to the production supervisor.
• Assist with inventory management by noting any material shortages or reporting stock discrepancies.
7. Coordination and Communication
• Communicate effectively with the production team, supervisors, and maintenance staff regarding any issues or requirements.
• Participate in shift handovers, briefing incoming operators on machine status, production progress, and any issues that arose.
• Provide feedback to supervisors about potential areas of improvement in machine performance or production processes.
8. Continuous Improvement
• Contribute to initiatives focused on improving production efficiency, reducing waste, and enhancing product quality.
• Proactively suggest adjustments or process changes that could optimize machine performance or minimize downtime.
• Stay up-to-date with training on new machines, processes, or updated safety protocols.

QUALIFICATIONS AND SKILLS:
• Educational Requirements: University diploma or equivalent; vocational training in machinery operation or manufacturing is a plus.
• Experience: Previous experience in machine operation, especially in a manufacturing or assembly plant, is preferred.
• Technical Skills: Basic understanding of machine operations, settings, and troubleshooting techniques; familiarity with mechanical and electrical systems is advantageous.
• Attention to Detail: Ability to detect product defects, machine issues, and quality deviations.
• Problem-Solving Skills: Capable of identifying and addressing minor issues to ensure continuous production.
• Communication Skills: Good verbal communication skills to coordinate with team members and report issues effectively.

WORKING CONDITIONS:
• Shift Work: This role may require working in shifts, including nights, weekends, or holidays.
• Environment: Work is conducted on the production floor, which may include exposure to noise, machinery, and safety protocols related to manufacturing
