Job Summary
Reporting to the Supply Chain Officer and under the supervision of the National Supply Chain Officer, the Logistics Clerk will provide essential support to the Resource Management Unit (RMU) and other programs in Uganda.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform clerical duties to ensure efficient operations within the unit.
- Monitor stock levels for consumables, supplies, and office materials, and notify when restocking is needed.
- Assist with fleet management, including coordinating drivers, maintaining vehicle logs, monitoring fuel consumption, and managing maintenance records.
- Support event planning for meetings, workshops, and training sessions.
- Oversee contractors working on office premises.
- Regularly inspect office premises to ensure functionality and maintain equipment.
- Drive IOM vehicles and ensure they are clean and receive regular maintenance.
- Perform additional tasks as assigned.
Qualifications, Skills, and Experience
Education:
- Required: High school diploma with three years of relevant experience, or a university degree in Business Administration, Accounting, Logistics, Supply Chain Management, or related field with one year of relevant experience.
- Additional: Valid national driver’s license.
Experience:
- Experience in procurement and logistics, working with vendors/service providers, and asset management.
- Familiarity with IOM/UN Procurement and Logistics Rules and Procedures is an asset.
- Prior experience in an international organization is an advantage.
Skills:
- Proficiency in computer applications; knowledge of SAP is highly desirable.
- Ability to work effectively with national and international institutions.
- Strong communication, report writing, and negotiation skills.
Languages:
- Fluency in English (oral and written) is required.
