Veterinary Officer CIC Group

PURPOSE:

To achieve stability in livestock business in both claims and underwriting departments.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  1. Examine all livestock related claims and advise claims personnel appropriately.
  2. To perform and complete livestock health and valuation certificates before insuring farmers
  3. To perform post-mortem reports and write reports to the claims department
  4. To do animal identification through application of ear tags or other methods as advised from time to time
  5. Cultivate positive relationships with customers and their animals through regular communication and excellent risk appraisals.
  6. Visit farms from time to time and advise on insurance, good management practices and vaccinations.
  7. Train new veterinary assistants, animal health assistants and dairy managers on matters insurance
  8. Support business growth through business initiatives and targeted marketing to individual farmers
  9. Train and support staff, agents, brokers and other intermediaries on livestock insurance.
