Job Summary:
The HR Coordinator will oversee human resources and payroll functions within Feed the Children’s International Operations, ensuring compliance, accuracy, and efficiency. This role involves handling payroll, recruitment, policy interpretation, benefits management, and other administrative responsibilities. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, organized, and capable of managing confidential information.
Reports To: Regional HR Business Partner
Works With: All staff in the Africa region and the International Operations team
Supervisory Responsibility: None
Principal Responsibilities:
Payroll (50%)
- Process monthly payroll, including benefits, deductions, separations, and leave.
- Prepare and distribute payroll reports to management.
- Ensure compliance with payroll regulations and maintain payroll records.
- Address payroll queries and discrepancies promptly.
- Collaborate with in-country HR and finance for data accuracy.
- Implement and maintain HRIS payroll systems.
- Keep updated on payroll laws and best practices.
- Conduct payroll audits and manage employee benefit deductions.
- Generate statutory reports and provide accurate payroll costs to senior leadership.
Human Resources (50%)
- Support policy implementation with the Regional HR Business Partner.
- Manage benefits plans and assist in recruitment processes.
- Coordinate new hire onboarding, HR workflows, and records management.
- Conduct benefits and personnel file audits.
- Assist in performance review preparations and coordinate HR events.
- Organize employee satisfaction surveys and provide feedback.
- Handle employee relations, including disciplinary and grievance matters.
- Provide administrative support, including arranging meetings and maintaining records.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources or a related field.
- 5–7 years of experience as an HR Generalist or HR Business Partner.
- 2+ years in compensation and benefits management.
- Familiarity with Sage 300 and HRIS systems.
- NGO experience, especially with USAID regulations, is preferred.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and HR analytics.
- Excellent communication, organization, and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work independently and maintain confidentiality.
Work Hours: 8 hours per day
