Position Overview

The Bancassurance Sales Officer will be responsible for driving insurance sales among bank customers, building strong customer relationships, achieving sales targets, and contributing to the growth of CIC’s bancassurance business.

Key Duties and Responsibilities

  • Customer Acquisition and Relationship Building:
    • Identify potential insurance customers within the bank’s customer base.
    • Build and maintain relationships to understand and fulfill customers’ insurance needs.
    • Conduct effective sales presentations to convert prospects into clients.
  • Sales Target Achievement:
    • Consistently meet or exceed sales targets for insurance products.
    • Develop and implement sales strategies to boost market reach.
    • Provide management with regular sales performance reports and analysis.
  • Product Knowledge and Cross-Selling:
    • Gain comprehensive knowledge of available insurance products.
    • Effectively cross-sell insurance products to existing bank clients.
    • Offer accurate product details and benefits to potential customers.
  • Customer Service:
    • Deliver outstanding service by handling customer inquiries and complaints professionally.
    • Ensure timely issuance of policies and claims processing to enhance customer satisfaction.
    • Foster customer loyalty through exceptional service delivery.
  • Compliance and Administration:
    • Adhere to insurance regulations and compliance standards.
    • Maintain accurate customer records and sales data.
    • Support sales and marketing campaigns’ development and implementation.
  • Team Collaboration:
    • Work closely with bank staff to reach mutual sales objectives.
    • Participate in team meetings and training programs.
    • Share insights and best practices with colleagues to promote knowledge-sharing.

Qualifications, Skills, and Experience

  • Diploma or Bachelor’s degree in Business, Finance, or a related field.
  • Minimum of one year’s experience in sales within the financial services sector, preferably in bancassurance.
  • Strong understanding of insurance products and the sales process.
  • Exceptional communication, interpersonal, and negotiation abilities.
  • Proficient in computer applications.
  • Ability to work independently as well as in a team.
  • Results-driven with a focus on meeting sales targets.
  • Certification in insurance (COP) is an added advantage.
