Job Description:

The Recruitment Officer will support World Vision Uganda’s talent acquisition efforts to attract, develop, and retain a skilled workforce aligned with the organization’s competencies and goals for achieving “Our Promise 2030.”



Key Responsibilities:

Talent Acquisition (Candidate Sourcing, Screening, Selection, and Onboarding):

  • Draft job adverts, screen candidates, coordinate interviews, and conduct background checks for selected candidates.
  • Process employment documentation, including offer letters, contracts, and job descriptions, in line with World Vision’s policies.

Communication and Reporting:

  • Assist the People and Culture Recruitment Manager in maintaining the recruitment tracking system.
  • Produce and submit regular recruitment updates to hiring managers.
  • Draft and submit recruitment reports to the People and Culture Recruitment Manager.
  • Provide feedback to all candidates who participated in interviews.

Management of Casual Labor Services:

  • Support the management of casual labor services.

Staff Onboarding:

  • Collaborate with the Learning and Development Coordinator to ensure smooth onboarding and orientation of new staff.

Networking and Collaboration:

  • Build and maintain relationships with hiring managers and People & Culture Business Partners in order to fill vacancies efficiently.

Qualifications:

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources Management, Organizational/Industrial Psychology, or Social Sciences with HR as a subject. A post-graduate degree in HR is an advantage.
  • Experience: At least 2 years in HR practice, ideally with experience in high-volume recruitment across various roles and sectors.
  • Technical Skills: Proficient in electronic recruitment systems, labor laws, and computer skills; excellent analytical and report writing skills.
  • Soft Skills: Strong communication skills, both verbal and written; proactive, team player, and innovative.
  • Preferred: Spiritual maturity and the ability to model Christian identity and mission inclusively.
