JOB OVERVIEW:
Accountable for the safety of all company assets, goods, property and people and assessment of security risks/threats relating to the protection of Company assets both on land and water and coordination of all external security agencies. Protect the Company and maintain a secure working environment.
KEY DUTIES
- Ensure that all critical areas of security concerns regarding the Yalelo Site are adequately covered in the security plan and are effectively managed, monitored and controlled.
- Develop and implement robust security strategies and policies to protect the company’s assets, employees and facilities.
- Assessing potential risks and vulnerabilities, investigating security breaches and reinforcing appropriate measures to mitigate them.
- Conducting regular security assessments, audits and inspections to identify gaps and areas for improvement.
- Educate employees on security awareness, policies and procedures through training programs and communication initiatives.
- Collaborating with cross-functional teams to ensure integration of security requirements into business processes and projects.
- Manage access control systems, surveillance equipment and other security technologies to ensure proper functioning and effectiveness.
- Collaborate with internal departments, such as human resources and IT, to ensure compliance with security protocols and standards.
- Investigate security breaches, incidents and violations, document findings and implement corrective actions.
- Maintain strong relationships with external partners, such as law enforcement agencies, local community and security vendors, to enhance security capabilities.
- Stay informed about the latest security technologies, trends and regulatory requirements and make recommendations for enhancements to the security program.
- Compile weekly and monthly reports regarding security operations at the firm.
- Any other duties as assigned by management.
REQUIRED TECHNICAL SKILLS, TRAINING & EXPERIENCE
- A bachelor’s degree in a relevant field, with criminal justice or related field experience.
- At least eight (8) years of Security Services experience (police/military/intelligence services), of which, at least four (4) years at the supervisory or management level within the private security industry with a strong understanding of security principles and practices.
- In-depth knowledge of security technologies, incident management and other security-related equipment, such as access control systems and CCTV surveillance.
- Demonstrated ability to develop and implement security policies, procedures and programs.
- Proficiency in security assessments, audits and investigations at a large scale.
- Attention to detail and a keen eye for identifying and mitigating security risks.
- A meticulously presented self-starter with a positive and professional attitude with the ability to operate at all levels of the business spectrum to achieve outcomes
- Strong management and leadership skills together with excellent communication, influencing, negotiating and engagement skills
- Preferably working within multinational companies (FMCG, manufacturing desirable, or alternatively natural resources – mining/oil & gas).
- Ability to demonstrate confidentiality and sensitivity in dealing with security matters resilience and the ability to work independently and effectively under pressure.
- Leadership experience in managing teams of supervisors across large geographical expanses.
- Strong computer literacy with a working knowledge of the complete range of MS Office packages. Strong knowledge of next-generation electronic security and surveillance systems and how they can be installed and optimized to enhance an over-arching site security and surveillance strategy.
- Training or experience in emergency response and crisis management.
