Trainees – Business Development x2 Grant Thornton

We are looking for a dynamic, enthusiastic, committed and highly talented individual for the role of Trainee-Business Development (2) for our Uganda office

Role Summary:
The successful candidates will work as part of a team that is responsible for the firm’s adherence to regulatory requirements and ethical standards during the business development process. They will be involved in conducting thorough compliance checks on potential clients and projects, supporting the business development team in maintaining high standards of integrity, and contributing to the overall success of the firm’s growth initiatives.

Essential duties and responsibilities:
• Support in managing the client acceptance and engagement processes.
• Carrying out client acceptance (KYC) for each existing and potential client le performing independence checks as per the firm’s polices.

Support the business development team in conducting due diligence on clients, ensuring that all necessary information is gathered to assess the risk and suitability of potential engagements.

Assist in operating the CRM system by uploading new inquiries, updating client data, client exits, fees revisions, etc.
• Assist in timely preparation and submission of the periodical compliance reports including work performed, pending CAPS, timelines etc.).
• Assist in maintaining the various compliance database/information on the server as per the firm’s storage guidelines (reports, documents, emails, trackers etc.).

Works with the Business Development team to develop quality communications with our clients, ie, circulars, tax alerts, invites, budget updates, seasonal greetings etc.

The ideal candidates should have:
• Recently completed Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Finance, Marketing, or a related field.
• Familiarity with Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint) is required.
• Ability to effectively communicate with team members and clients in a professional manner. Ability to leam quickly and adapt to new tasks, processes, and environments.
• Shows initiative in completing tasks and taking on responsibilities with minimal supervision.
• Willingness to take on new challenges and responsibilities as required.
