JOB SUMMARY

  • Coordinate the operations of the Retail Distribution Channels (Agencies and Branches) and ensure that the set targets in production, Compliance and targeted increase of the Direct Sales Force (DSF) are achieved.
  • The role holder is also responsible for attracting new business from intermediaries and retaining existing customers to attain profitable outcomes.

KEY OUTPUTS/RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Pursuing new business acquisition plans through existing and new business channels and intermediaries.
  • Sets targets for each Agency and Branch both for renewal and new business at the start of the business year and monitors performance every month to ensure that business targets are met
  • Selects, interviews, recruits, and trains the DSF with his/her direct reports to achieve annual set numbers and facilitates professional courses for all licensed Agents. Also terminates services as necessary while maintaining the regulatory standards throughout the year
  • Contributes actively to actualization of the company’s PR/Communication plan in Marketing and promotion of company products and identifies social responsibility activities in the region for consideration
  • Formulates long-term and short-term strategic plans for the Agencies and Branches in line with the Company’s strategic goals and takes part in the Company’s strategic planning sessions
  • Develop a rewards and incentive program to motivate the Direct Sales Force to achieve projected sales.
  • § Supervises, counsels, motivates and sets objectives for the team and carries out appraisals as per the company plan to achieve the Channel Objectives/targets
  • Oversees the Agency and Branch administrative function and ensures that all company assets including safe custody of Motor vehicle certificates, cash/cheques and agents’ personnel files are maintained and safe
  • Implements the company credit policy by collecting premiums.
  • Oversees compliance with company procedures ensuring adherence to regulatory requirements for all the office premises.
  • Ensuring strict adherence to practices, procedures, and policies stipulated in the business development operational manual, including the Code of Ethics.

EDUCATION, KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE

  • A Bachelor’s degree in Business related course
  • Professional certification in insurance e.g. ACII, DIU or equivalent will be an added advantage
  • Analytical and creative thinking skills
  • Good customer relationship management skills (internal and external customers)
  • Good communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Good organizational and time-management skills.
  • Good negotiation skills and persuasiveness.
  • A smart appearance and professional manner.
  • Strong sales acumen
  • At least 5 years of experience in a retail and sales environment in a financial institution
