Job Overview:

MTN Uganda is seeking a Supervisor – IT Projects to ensure that projects are executed following best practices in project management. The role involves overseeing project timelines, managing resources, and ensuring that all project components are implemented successfully within specified timelines and quality standards.

Manager – Project Portfolio & Capex Management

Main Job Functions:

  • Ensure IT projects are executed using best practice project management guidelines.
  • Implement projects as per the scope finalized with MTN Group.
  • Attend product and service steercom meetings to update teams on project progress and seek necessary approvals at each stage.
  • Provide regular project reporting based on business needs.
  • Ensure all components of the project are implemented within timelines and the quality plan.
  • Oversee the handover of completed projects to respective internal customers.
  • Prepare detailed project timelines with interdependencies in project activities.
  • Ensure customer-centricity guidelines are followed across all projects.
  • Manage project contracts, procurement, reporting, and risks.
  • Manage human resources related to the project.
  • Maintain thorough project documentation.

Education Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Science or Commercial fields preferred.
  • Familiarity with project management approaches like PMI, Prince II, or PMBOK.

Work Experience:

  • At least 3 years of IT project management experience with an understanding of ITIL standards and best practices in operational environments.
  • Experience in creating complex project communication materials and reporting on project status, budgets, and results.
  • Experience working with reputable organizations.
