Job Overview:
DGB Group is seeking a Sales Manager to maximize sales from coffee production. The role involves managing sales logistics, ensuring product quality, acting as the local DGB representative, and leading the coffee sales team to achieve optimal sales performance.
Tasks & Responsibilities:
- Establish DGB as the single trading entity in the coffee value chain between producers (farmers) and buyers (exporters).
- Maintain a quality network with major players in the coffee value chain, including exporters, international buyers, and processors.
- Maximize sales prices for produced coffee while minimizing losses due to quality issues.
- Organize logistics for collecting coffee from farmers and transferring it to buyers.
- Ensure compliance and quality control in all coffee-related operations, including accurate reporting of production values.
- Design and implement project cost efficiencies while maintaining quality control.
- Maintain strong working relationships with stakeholders, including global team members, partners, industry regulators, and government departments.
Requirements:
- Excellent understanding of the coffee industry with an existing network within the Uganda coffee value chain.
- At least 5 years of relevant experience in a senior field/sales role within coffee value chains.
- Ability to perform quality control on raw materials.
- Proven sales experience, with a solid understanding of orders, sales, margins, cost efficiencies, invoicing, and payments.
- Proven track record of meeting or exceeding sales targets in competitive markets.
- Excellent negotiation, communication, and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to build strong relationships with a diverse customer base (farmers and buyers).
- Excellent quality control skills for operational processes and data generation.
- Willingness to travel to potentially remote locations within the country.
- Fluent in English and at least 1 other local language spoken within the project area.
- Experience in an international organization is a plus.
- Good local cultural awareness and sensitivity.
