Overview:
The SI Scholarship for Global Professionals is a prestigious academic scholarship offered by the Swedish Institute for full-time, one- or two-year master’s studies in Sweden. It covers a wide range of fields, with over 700 English-taught master’s programmes eligible for the scholarship.
The Swedish Institute (SI) provides this scholarship to foster a network of global leaders committed to advancing the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) and driving the development of their home countries forward.
Key Dates:
- 15th October 2024 – 15th January 2025: Apply to Swedish master’s programmes through University Admissions before the January deadline.
- 1st November 2024: SI Scholarship application documents and eligible master programmes are published.
- 10th February – 26th February 2025: SI Scholarship application portal is open.
- 27th March 2025: University admissions announcement day.
- 24th April 2025: SI Scholarship announcement day.
Scholarship Benefits:
- Full tuition fee coverage: Paid directly to the university.
- Monthly allowance: SEK 12,000 for living expenses.
- Travel grant: SEK 15,000 (SEK 10,000 for scholars from Armenia, Azerbaijan, Belarus, Georgia, Moldova, and Ukraine).
- Membership in the SI Network for Future Global Professionals (NFGP): Professional development and networking opportunities.
- Alumni Network Membership: Continued networking and development post-scholarship.
Eligibility Criteria:
- Citizenship: You must be a citizen of an eligible country (list to be announced).
- Master’s Programme: The programme you apply for must be eligible for the SI scholarship (list available on 1st November 2024).
- University Admission: You must be admitted to an eligible master’s programme and liable to pay tuition fees.
- Work Experience: Demonstrated work experience and leadership experience from employment or civil society engagement.
- Leadership Experience: Experience in leading or influencing strategies within an organization.
Application Process:
- Step 1: Apply for a master’s programme at Swedish universities through the University Admissions portal between 15th October 2024 and 15th January 2025.
- Step 2: Once admitted, apply for the SI Scholarship through the Swedish Institute’s application portal from 10th February to 26th February 2025.
