Old Mutual Uganda is looking for a Bancassurance Manager to lead and manage the strategic and operational activities of the Bancassurance division. This role is critical in ensuring the company achieves its growth, profitability, and customer service goals.

Key Responsibilities:

• Provide advice on potential products and services to capture business opportunities.
• Set clear sales targets and address performance issues to maximize productivity.
• Monitor banks’ performance, addressing challenges, and identifying opportunities.
• Build and manage a successful Bancassurance team, including coaching and counseling staff.
• Conduct joint fieldwork with Branch Relationship Managers (BRMs) to support business acquisition.
• Organize workshops and seminars to develop and communicate with staff.
• Establish systems to track work progress and business production.

Unit Measures and Impact:

• Financial Impact:
  • Value of assets managed.
  • Revenue generation (budget oversight).
• People Impact:
  • Direct Reports: Bancassurance officers.

Knowledge and Experience:

• Education:
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Marketing or Sales (required).
  • Diploma in Insurance (required).
• Experience:
  • 3-5 years of work experience in Sales & Marketing, with at least 2 years in a supervisory role.
  • Experience in Bank and Insurance Sales & Marketing is an added advantage.

Delegated Freedom to Act:

• Recommend and implement strategic and operational activities for the Bancassurance division.
• Approve significant Bancassurance expenditures.
• Monitor the Bancassurance budget.

Key Result Areas & Performance Indicators:

• Sales Targets:
  • Non-life General Insurance (New Business, Annual Premiums, Persistency, Renewals).
  • Case size and recruitment of Branch Relationship Managers.
  • Productivity from existing and new BRM teams.
• Activity Management:
  • Branch sales, BRM activity, SM activity, market intelligence gathering.
• Strategic Development:
  • Delivery of the current business plan and development of new relationships.

Required Skills:

• Expertise in Bancassurance, budgeting, business planning, coaching, and sales strategy implementation.
• Strong communication, customer service, marketing, people management, and workforce development skills.
