Job Overview:

Alight Uganda is seeking a Child Protection Technical Coordinator to lead the design, coordination, and implementation of child protection programs in Rwamwanja and other field sites. The role includes overseeing program quality, ensuring compliance with internal and donor regulations, and fostering collaboration with stakeholders. The Coordinator will work closely with children, caregivers, and community leaders to strengthen child protection systems.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide technical leadership in designing and implementing child protection programs.
  • Collaborate with partners, CSOs, and government agencies on child protection issues.
  • Manage budgets, monitor financial performance, and ensure projects align with donor requirements.
  • Strengthen systems for child protection, focusing on child rights, gender, and resilience.
  • Advocate for child protection policies and manage child safeguarding risks.
  • Support the development of innovative child protection models and program concepts.
  • Conduct investigations into child protection cases as needed.
  • Ensure compliance with Alight’s Child Protection Policy (CPP) and code of conduct.

Qualifications:

  • Master’s degree in Human Rights, Social Sciences, Social Work, or related field. A Postgraduate Diploma in Project Planning and Management is an advantage.
  • At least 5 years of managerial or technical experience in child protection programming.
  • Experience with GBV and case management is beneficial.
  • Knowledge of child protection practices in Uganda, including networks, CSOs, and government stakeholders.
  • Strong communication, negotiation, and report writing skills.
  • Willingness to reside in Rwamwanja settlement.
