About PEAS:
PEAS (Promoting Equality in African Schools) is a UK-based NGO dedicated to delivering quality secondary education across Africa. PEAS operates low-cost secondary schools, with a focus on Uganda and Zambia, providing education to over 16,000 students through 36 schools. PEAS Uganda has a team of 900+ staff across its network, supported by 50 staff at the Country Office.

Job Summary:
The Grants and Business Development Coordinator will oversee grant management and reporting to ensure compliance with donor requirements and support business development efforts related to grants. This role involves identifying new funding opportunities, proposal writing, and building partnerships that contribute to PEAS’ growth initiatives.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Grant Reporting and Management (90%): Ensure compliance with donor requirements, oversee the management of grants, and prepare reports.
  • Business Development Support (10%): Identify and explore new funding opportunities, and support grant-related business development efforts.
  • Build and maintain relationships with donors and external partners.

Experience & Qualifications:
Essential:

  • Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent in a relevant field (Finance, Business Development, Social Sciences)
  • At least 5 years’ experience in raising and managing grants within an NGO
  • Experience working with major donors (EU, DFID/FCDO, USAID)
  • Strong project management and financial control skills
  • Excellent writing skills in English
  • Confidence in relationship building with donors and senior colleagues

Desired:

  • Familiarity with major corporate funding agencies
  • Knowledge of current development trends
  • Experience managing bilateral and multilateral funding grants
