Job Summary:
Oxfam Novib Uganda is seeking four Temporary Drivers to support project-based activities by providing driving services to staff, visitors, and authorized persons. Drivers will ensure adherence to safety regulations and maintain proper vehicle records.
Key Responsibilities:
Technical:
- Drive Oxfam staff and visitors while observing safety protocols.
- Maintain vehicle mileage and usage records.
- Conduct daily maintenance checks and ensure vehicle cleanliness.
- Deliver and collect mail and documents.
- Maintain confidentiality of Oxfam information.
Administration:
- Maintain proper vehicle documents (insurance, registration, etc.).
- Carry correctly signed waybills for transported goods.
- Assist with local purchases and logistics.
Mechanical:
- Report any technical failure or damage promptly.
- Ensure vehicle servicing is done on schedule.
- Fill vehicle logbooks after service checks or repairs.
Who Are We Looking For?
- Required:
- Valid driving license with 3+ years of experience (preferably in an NGO environment).
- Defensive driving certification (added advantage).
- Basic tractor servicing and maintenance skills.
- Good spoken English and local language skills.
- Ability to work long hours and prioritize tasks.
- Strong interpersonal skills and commitment to Oxfam’s values.
