Job Summary:
Oxfam Novib Uganda is seeking four Temporary Drivers to support project-based activities by providing driving services to staff, visitors, and authorized persons. Drivers will ensure adherence to safety regulations and maintain proper vehicle records.

Key Responsibilities:
Technical:

  • Drive Oxfam staff and visitors while observing safety protocols.
  • Maintain vehicle mileage and usage records.
  • Conduct daily maintenance checks and ensure vehicle cleanliness.
  • Deliver and collect mail and documents.
  • Maintain confidentiality of Oxfam information.

Administration:

  • Maintain proper vehicle documents (insurance, registration, etc.).
  • Carry correctly signed waybills for transported goods.
  • Assist with local purchases and logistics.

Mechanical:

  • Report any technical failure or damage promptly.
  • Ensure vehicle servicing is done on schedule.
  • Fill vehicle logbooks after service checks or repairs.

Who Are We Looking For?

  • Required:
    • Valid driving license with 3+ years of experience (preferably in an NGO environment).
    • Defensive driving certification (added advantage).
    • Basic tractor servicing and maintenance skills.
    • Good spoken English and local language skills.
    • Ability to work long hours and prioritize tasks.
    • Strong interpersonal skills and commitment to Oxfam’s values.
