Responsibilities
- Project Financial Management
- Prepare timely and accurate financial reports as required by the Study Investigator/Project Director/Budget holder and Project Accounting Head/Director of Administration & Finance.
- Ensure adherence to institutional finance policies and donor requirements.
- Support the Study Investigator/Project Director in utilizing financial analysis for effective project management.
- Monitor budget utilization and communicate any relevant issues to stakeholders.
- Manage day-to-day project finances, including billing and verification of expenses.
- Coordinate project audits and ensure compliance with audit recommendations.
- Project Start-up and Closeout
- Coordinate initial project budget implementation and run financial aspects of inception workshops.
- Ensure sub-partners understand financial requirements and systems.
- Manage financial closeout processes in collaboration with stakeholders.
- Financial Support and Monitoring
- Provide ongoing financial training and support to project staff.
- Respond to donor financial queries and advise on compliance with donor-specific regulations.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or equivalent, with complete ACCA/CPA certification.
- Minimum of 3 years of relevant experience in a similar role within a multi-donor institution; experience in a clinical research setting is a plus.
- Proficiency in Microsoft applications (Excel, PowerPoint, Word) and familiarity with computerized accounting packages; experience with Navision software is advantageous.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks in a demanding environment and meet tight deadlines.
- Flexibility to travel to multiple districts as required.
