As a Mental Health Officer at Tiko, you will play a critical role in leading and enhancing Tiko’s Mental Health program across various locations in Uganda. Your expertise in psychology, combined with your experience in project management and working with young people, will be instrumental in driving the success and expansion of our mental health initiatives.
Key Responsibilities:
• Oversee the entire project lifecycle of the Mental Health program, from planning and implementation to evaluation, to ensure effective delivery and measurable impact.
• Train and mentor team members and partners in mental health practices, ensuring high-quality execution and adherence to standards.
• Coordinate with community-based organizations and partners, travelling to different parts of Uganda for project implementation, and monitor progress. You will also report outcomes to foster continuous improvement and strategic growth.
• Develop and manage project timelines, resources, and budgets, ensuring that all aspects of the mental health initiatives are executed effectively and within the stipulated time frame.
• Participate proactively and assist with additional projects, showcasing your versatility and commitment to teamwork.
About you
Your experience in program implementation and working with young people has honed your skills in technical and quality assurance. You thrive in practical roles, demonstrating exceptional training and project coordination abilities. You are committed to scaling mental health education and maintaining high standards across various locations.
Requirements:
• A degree in Psychology or related fields
• A minimum of 4-6 years of professional experience is required, including 1-2 years in a mental health program role focused on training, monitoring, and field visits, where you have directly engaged in hands-on training and supervision of teams on the ground.
• Demonstrated experience working with young people in a global health context, and mental health is preferred.
• Proven ability in training and capacity building, with strong skills in teaching and mentoring others in Mental health practices.
• Experience in managing projects across multiple locations, strong project monitoring and reporting skills, and the ability to develop new strategies based on program outcomes.
• Flexibility to travel.
