Job Summary:
The Projects Engineer – Electrical will manage electrical and instrumentation project functions in a safe, reliable, and cost-effective manner. This role focuses on planning, coordinating, and supervising various project activities to enhance plant performance and reliability.
Key Duties and Responsibilities:
- Champion installations and commissioning activities of electrical systems.
- Set performance objectives, monitor, appraise, and validate contractors’ performance to ensure safety and quality.
- Collaborate with departments to meet schedules, financial targets, and quality standards.
- Prepare and process handover certificates for projects, ensuring proper documentation is maintained.
- Generate project cost compilations to prepare capitalization certificates for tax claims.
- Define technical specifications to initiate and track purchase requisitions and validate offers.
- Develop justifications, project details, budget estimates, risk analysis, and capex applications for approvals.
- Evaluate technical and economic performance of projects to ensure selected investments add value.
- Coordinate activities with contractors and experts to meet performance standards.
- Conduct site inspections during project installation, evaluating contractor performance and safety.
- Monitor project expenditures and take corrective actions to stay within budget.
Required Qualifications, Skills, and Attributes:
- Education: Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical/Electronic Engineering.
- Experience: Minimum of 3 years in electrical and instrumentation maintenance in a busy cement organization.
- Proficient in SAP, Excel, Word, and Google Worksheets.
- Knowledge of project management tools (CPA, PERT, MS Project, IRT).
- Familiarity with project management methodologies (PRINCE II, PMP).
- Understanding of the cement manufacturing process and material transport equipment.
- Ability to handle multiple tasks, prioritize, and meet tight deadlines.
