Job Title: Irrigation Engineer

Key Responsibilities:
- Design, install, and manage irrigation systems, including pumps, control systems, and pipelines.
- Provide technical support to farmers, recommend upgrades and replacements for water systems, and fix leaks to ensure efficient system performance.
- Develop in-depth knowledge of Omia Agribusiness products and services to assess market opportunities and promote water-saving technologies and sustainable practices.
- Conduct field surveys, collect data, document challenges, and report findings to aid decision-making and improve irrigation systems.
- Collaborate with the team to train farmer groups on irrigation technologies and implement tailored programs for efficient farming.
- Maintain accurate farmer profiling, oversee asset care, stay updated on industry trends, and submit progress reports on irrigation system installations and performance.
Job Requirements:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Agricultural or Irrigation Engineering.
- Experience in wet utilities, pressure pipes, drainage systems, and portable solar water pumps installation.
- Previous experience in irrigation works and agricultural inputs business is an added advantage.
Language Proficiency:
- English
- Lugbara
- Juba Arabic
- Kakwa
Other Skills:
- Excellent verbal and written communication.
- Strong interpersonal and customer service skills.
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Strong time management, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and Irrigation Design Software like CAD.
- Strong supervisory and leadership abilities.
- Ability to work in a high-paced and sometimes stressful environment.
Physical Requirements:
- Willingness to travel to the field.
- Ability to ride a motorcycle is a MUST.
