Job Summary:
The Central Control Room Operator will ensure the safe operation of assigned workshops (including Crushers, Kilns, Raw Mills, Coal Mill, Biomass Dryer, and Cement Mills) to meet and exceed production and quality targets while minimizing operational incidents.
Roles and Responsibilities:
Production Operations:
- Control all major process lines within cement manufacturing, including equipment commissioning, startups, shutdowns, and emergency condition management per established SOPs.
- Operate Kilns, Raw Mills, Coal Mill, Cement Mills, Biomass Dryer, and Crushers according to SOPs and General Function Specifications (GFS).
- Maintain product quality at all stages of the cement manufacturing process, understanding targets and decision-making processes.
- Monitor continuously all plant process lines to ensure employee safety, stable operation, equipment integrity, and compliance with environmental regulations.
- Report any equipment failures to the Shift Coordinator and maintenance personnel.
- Write shift reports to highlight plant operation status and ensure smooth handover.
Production Planning:
- Coordinate resources for troubleshooting, inspecting, and maintaining plant equipment to meet production demands.
- Communicate with the Field Patroller and team for effective plant operation.
People & Development:
- Support and develop Field Patrollers to improve performance regarding OH&S and environmental standards.
- Maintain safety for all personnel and equipment during plant operations.
Educational Requirements:
- Minimum of an Ordinary/National Diploma in Electrical, Mechanical, Process, or Chemical Engineering.
- 3+ years’ experience in the cement industry in a similar role.
- Certification in cement control room operations is an advantage.
- Experience in a busy industrial environment preferred.
Other Requirements:
- Understanding of the cement manufacturing process.
- Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills.
- Good communication and interpersonal skills.
- Knowledge of safety regulations in an industrial environment.
- Proficient in computer skills.
