Job Summary:
The Project Officer- Innovative Energy Solutions will lead and manage the SUSTAINED project, ensuring that its goals, mission, and objectives are achieved within the 11 months of implementation. The role focuses on increasing access to clean, reliable, and affordable energy products for refugees and vulnerable host communities, particularly women and youth, in Uganda.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead the SUSTAINED project, ensuring goals and objectives are met.
  • Coordinate with the SUSTAINED consortium team to support project mission integration.
  • Ensure increased access to clean energy solutions for targeted communities.
  • Maintain awareness of Oxfam’s reputation and ensure it remains respected.
  • Manage budgets, ensure timely reports, and monitor donor compliance.
  • Provide leadership and oversee project resource mobilization.
  • Represent Oxfam in networking and stakeholder coordination activities.
  • Manage staff, build capacity, and ensure effective human resource management.
  • Monitor project progress, manage donor relations, and report on project achievements.

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Energy Economics, Climate Science, Development Studies, or a relevant field.
  • Minimum of five years’ experience working with vulnerable communities.
  • Experience with clean energy solutions, climate change, and livelihoods.
  • Familiarity with humanitarian programming and refugee work.
  • Knowledge of technical models such as Village Savings & Loans, GALS, and SAA.
  • Strong leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work in diverse cultural contexts and challenging conditions.
