Job Description:
The Disability Inclusion Officer will support the Programmes team to ensure full inclusion of persons with disabilities in all program interventions. The role involves engaging public authorities, men, women, youth with disabilities, and other excluded groups to influence laws, policies, practices, and norms for improved food security. This multi-country program is implemented in Uganda across Arua, Yumbe, Nwoya, and Omoro.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop annual work plans and budgets for the project.
- Ensure timely and quality implementation of project interventions.
- Manage Disability Inclusion Facilitators and support their activities.
- Provide updates to stakeholders and promote disability-inclusive practices.
- Prepare and submit reports in line with project timelines.
- Monitor project progress, work plans, and budgets.
- Liaise with local government and partners on project implementation.
Requirements:
- University Degree in a relevant field related to humanitarian and development work or program management.
- At least 3 years of experience in NGO project implementation, ideally focused on consortium and sub-grantees.
- Experience in livelihoods, microfinance, and IGA methodology.
- Expertise in Livelihoods and Disability Inclusion is desired.
- Strong facilitation and communication skills.
- Ability to work independently and deliver high-quality results.
