Job Summary:
The Digital Payments Manager will be responsible for driving the development and execution of DFCU’s Digital Payments Strategy. The role involves creating innovative payment solutions, collaborating with cross-functional teams, and driving growth in the payments ecosystem. The manager will ensure compliance with regulatory frameworks and industry standards while identifying new revenue streams.

Reports to: Head Card & Payments

Key Responsibilities:

1. Strategy Implementation:
   • Develop and implement DFCU’s payments strategy in line with the bank’s growth goals.
   • Create innovative payment initiatives to meet and anticipate customer needs.
2. New Capabilities and Revenue Streams:
   • Develop and monetize payment initiatives and identify customer-driven solutions.
   • Build the payments-as-a-service capability and scale commercialization.
3. Business Growth:
   • Oversee the strategic vision for growing the payments business.
   • Track and analyze key performance indicators (KPIs) and optimize growth.
4. Risk and Compliance:
   • Ensure all payment solutions comply with regulatory frameworks.
   • Mitigate risks and implement robust controls.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in business, finance, or related fields.
• Master’s degree is an added advantage.
• 10+ years of experience in payments within financial services, Telco, FinTech, or related fields.
• Proven track record in driving payment business growth and profitability.
• Extensive knowledge of the payments industry in East Africa and global trends.
