Job Description:
The Senior Officer Industry Intelligence will be responsible for collecting, analyzing, and interpreting market data to support strategic decision-making at UCC. This role will involve identifying market trends, threats, and opportunities, and providing input into the development of regulatory policies.

Reports to: Manager Economic Regulation

Key Responsibilities:

• Conduct detailed market research to assess market size, share, and opportunities across communication markets.
• Implement regulatory surveillance and performance indices.
• Analyze consumer complaints to identify service delivery trends and regulatory focus areas.
• Utilize data visualization tools like Power BI and GIS to generate insights and present dashboards and reports.
• Provide policy recommendations based on market intelligence.
• Engage industry stakeholders for collaboration and market benchmarking.
• Ensure market data integrity, confidentiality, and protection.
• Coordinate both quantitative and qualitative market research projects to assess customer satisfaction.
• Manage the performance of direct reports by assigning tasks, setting goals, and ensuring alignment with organizational objectives.
• Perform any other duties assigned by the supervisor.

Key Performance Indicators:

• Completion of market size and opportunity assessments.
• Resolution of issues identified in consumer complaints.
• Implementation of policy recommendations based on market data.
• Presentation of intelligence reports to stakeholders.
• Engagements with industry stakeholders.

Qualifications, Skills, and Experience:

• Education:
  • Master’s degree in Economics, Statistics, Business Administration, or a related field.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Economics, Statistics, Business Administration, or a related field.
  • Membership in a relevant professional body.
• Experience:
  • Minimum of four (4) years of experience in market research, economic regulation, or a related field, preferably in the communications sector.
• Skills and Abilities:
  • Technical:
    • Strong analytical skills and proficiency with data analysis tools.
    • Knowledge of regulatory frameworks in the telecommunications sector.
  • Behavioural:
    • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
    • Ability to interpret complex data and offer strategic insights.
    • Strong presentation skills and attention to detail.
    • Integrity in handling sensitive information.
