Job Summary: The key role is to support the conduct of research that solves complex challenges across the Fund and generate and develop innovations that increase the Fund’s product and service range to meet the new and evolving needs of the Fund’s membership.
Key Duties and Responsibilities:
- Synthesize product/service ideas into innovative customer solutions that enhance satisfaction, retention or cost savings.
- Define both long-term product development strategy for the financial year as well as short-term plans to achieve the product vision and deliver business results
- Prepare product concepts /manuals and business cases for new products and services and determine effective products/services specifications and features.
- Develop comprehensive product plans, incorporating market research and assessment, market requirements, define the competitive arena, and establish the objectives, strategies, and actions required to achieve business goals.
- Project Management – champion & drive consistent and cross-functional product lifecycle processes from concept to post-launch phase
- Develop a methodology to test and stress test new products
- Drafting, managing and providing strategic planning and budgeting of research and product development activities, and ensuring that they are well implemented.
- Management of service development projects end to end, developing methodologies to test new products and ensure low to zero post-launch product failures.
- Monitoring and communicating market and research findings to the business with recommendations in line with the department’s work plan
- Draft, manage and provide strategic planning and budgeting of research and product development activities, and ensure that they are well implemented.
- Segment markets and define segment-specific needs refined into strategic action points
- Forecast market trends to inform strategic innovations to counter new trends in the market
- Gather market intelligence and competitor profiles to inform strategic actions to counter competition.
- Define research requirements for both product development innovations as well as support Brand research needs
Qualifications, Skills and Experience:
Education Requirements:
- Bachelor’s Degree (Honors) in Business Administration, BA (Bachelor of Arts), Bachelor of Commerce, Bachelor of Statistics, Bachelor of Economics, Qualitative and Quantitative field or any other relevant
- Professional training in Marketing Research, Strategic Planning, Product Development, actuarial practice, product risk analysis and stress testing or any relevant field is an added advantage.
Work Experience:
- 4 years in product development research and marketing field or any related field.
