Position Summary:
The Product Manager will create guidelines, goals, checkpoints, and objectives to enhance employee productivity, provide support and motivation, manage people and processes, and represent the Uganda market in planning sessions. The role also includes responsibility for weekly product updates and ensuring product metrics align with business growth targets.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Forecasting & Project Management: Compile forecasting plans, track project progress, and create visibility through reports. Liaise with stakeholders for product input.
  • Product Analysis: Analyze project scope and core objectives related to the product roadmap.
  • Stakeholder Coordination: Communicate with internal and external parties to manage activities and timelines.
  • Risk Management: Identify risks, implement changes, and ensure project completion within deadlines and budget.
  • Strategy & Deployment: Work closely with stakeholders for product positioning and deployment strategies.
  • Product Requirements: Convert stakeholder needs into detailed product specifications.
  • Cross-Functional Support: Collaborate with sales, IT, marketing, and customer service to enhance company position and customer experience.
  • Team Management: Lead the Back Office Team, ensuring KPIs are met, conducting performance reviews, and fostering a positive work culture.
  • Reporting: Provide weekly/bi-weekly reports to management.
  • Product Marketing: Execute go-to-market strategy, advocate for local business updates, and support ongoing marketing initiatives.
  • Product Ownership & Growth: Act as a local product owner, guide UX development, and connect product goals with market success metrics.
  • Partnerships: Manage key external partnerships, including regulators, mobile operators, and co-marketing partners.

Key Qualifications and Skills:

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Business Administration, or related field.
  • Experience: Over 5 years in a similar role with experience in asset financing, product partnerships, marketing, stakeholder management, and strategic marketing.
  • Skills: Proficiency in digital marketing tools, Google Analytics, and strong copywriting skills.
  • Attributes: Creative thinking, problem-solving, organizational skills, and ability to manage multiple projects.
  • Communication: Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
